What actually matters
- Chemistry family - butyl and alkaline cleaners break down organic residue; citrus and petroleum solvents dissolve tar. Each has a different effect on wax, trim and rubber, and the family predicts both.

How to read a listing without getting fooled

How quickly do I need to remove bugs?

It will remove tar reasonably well and it is the wrong tool for baked bugs. Clay works mechanically, shearing bonded contamination off the surface, so hardened insect shell gets dragged rather than dissolved and that is exactly how you mar the clear coat. The efficient order is chemical first, clay second: dissolve what dissolves, then clay whatever is still rough. That also means far less claying, which is where marring risk lives.
