- HDMI 2.1 promoted in the headline while the fine print reveals only one or two full-bandwidth ports, with eARC sharing one, on a set sold as a gaming TV.
- A 144Hz claim used as a selling point for a console-only setup, where it changes nothing over 120Hz.
- An entry-tier OLED priced within a small step of a much brighter model, where the saving buys visibly less picture.
- Any listing that dodges burn-in entirely while marketing the set for PC monitor or all-day signage duty, which is the one use case where OLED is genuinely the wrong tool.
Who's who: the brands
- LG - The volume leader in WOLED and the maker of most WOLED panels. Its mid-flagship line is the perennial best-OLED-for-most-people, with the strongest gaming connectivity in the class. Backs Dolby Vision, not HDR10+.

How to read a listing without getting fooled

Is 144Hz worth paying for over 120Hz?
Only if you connect a gaming PC that can actually push more than 120 frames per second at 4K. Current consoles top out at 120Hz, so the extra headroom does nothing for them. Should I choose a glossy or matte OLED screen?
