Which Gaming Desk Is Worth Buying, and Which Should You Skip?
We compared six gaming desks on depth, height adjustment, stated load capacity, surface and cable management.
The short version
The Secretlab MAGNUS Evo is the best gaming desk overall: dual motors, a 28.3 to 46.1 inch height range, a 265 lb rating and the cleanest cable management here. The IKEA HUVUDSPELARE is the value pick, a 31 1/2 inch deep steel-frame desk at a budget price, though it is fixed height and rated for 110 lb. The Arozzi Arena (Large) is the deepest desk here and is fully covered in a washable mousepad. The Eureka Ergonomic Aero Pro suits players who want an electric desk with extras for less, and the RESPAWN PC Desk suits those who want a fixed-height mousepad desk with a 200 lb limit. Skip the Bestier 63 Inch LED Gaming Desk: it is 19.6 inches deep and lists no load capacity. Best for: sit-stand setups (Secretlab), tight budgets (IKEA), wide setups and big mouse sweeps (Arozzi).

What mattered most
- Top size (W x D)
- Height
- Stated load capacity
- Top material
- Cable management
- Motors / presets
A gaming desk is mostly an ordinary desk with the right proportions: deep enough to push monitors back, wide enough for a low-sensitivity mouse sweep, and stable when you slam a key. The extras, such as LEDs, cup holders and hooks, matter far less than depth and load rating. We compared two electric standing desks, two full-mousepad desks, a budget steel-frame desk and a gadget-heavy budget desk. Every spec below comes from the maker's own product page.

A dual-motor sit-to-stand desk with a magnetic metal rear edge, a hidden cable tray and the most complete spec sheet in this group.
Best for: Players who want to sit and stand through long sessions and care about a clean, cable-free setup.
- Secretlab lists a 28.3 to 46.1 inch height range, two motors, three presets and a 265 lb load capacity.
- A magnetic bottom-access cable tray and an integrated power column keep cables off the floor and out of sight.
- The metal rear edge and magnetic zones work with Secretlab's MAGNUS accessories and with monitor arm clamps.
- It is the most expensive desk here.
- The 265 lb capacity includes the 67.2 lb desktop itself, so the load you can add is lower.
- At 25.2 inches deep, the standard model is shallower than the Arozzi and RESPAWN desks.
- The control panel and control box carry a 2-year warranty, shorter than the up-to-5-year coverage on the rest.

A cheap, deep, steel-framed gaming desk with cable trunking and a headphone hook, and nothing you do not need.
Best for: Budget buyers with one or two monitors who want depth and stability over extras.
- At 31 1/2 inches deep, IKEA says the top lets you place screens at a comfortable distance, and it holds two 24-inch screens.
- The legs and rails are powder-coated steel, and the desk is tested to the EN 12521 table standard IKEA cites.
- Cable trunking under the top and an included headphone hook cover the basics at the lowest price here.
- It is fixed height, and IKEA's measurements do not state the height.
- The 110 lb max load is the lowest stated figure in this comparison.
- The top is particleboard with plastic edging, so heavy clamp-on monitor arms deserve care.
- At 55 1/8 inches wide it is the narrowest desk here, tight for a triple-monitor setup.

The deepest desk here, fully covered in a washable mousepad, with manual height adjustment and a cable net underneath.

- At 63.0 x 32.3 inches it offers the most surface area and depth in this comparison.
- The whole top is covered by a microfiber mousepad that Arozzi says is water-resistant, machine washable and replaceable.
- Three cutouts handle cables and monitor arms, and a mesh net under the desk holds the cable mess.
- The 176 lb evenly distributed capacity is below the RESPAWN and electric desks here.
- Height changes are manual; Arozzi lists a 71 to 81 cm range, but its inch figures on the same page do not match.
- The top is MDF, so very heavy clamp-on arms need care.
- A fabric surface stains more easily than laminate, even if it can be washed.

A dual-motor standing desk with a wing-shaped top and a box of extras, for half the premium tier, with a shorter electronics warranty.
Best for: Streamers and multi-device players who want an electric desk with accessories included and like the wing layout.
- Eureka lists a dual motor, a 29.5 to 48 inch height range, three presets, anti-collision sensors and a 220 lb capacity.
- The wing shape keeps both sides within reach, and the box includes shelves, a cable tray, hooks, a cup holder and a full-desk mouse pad.
- It costs a tier less than the MAGNUS Evo while still being electric.
- Electronic parts are covered for 1 year, against 5 years on the frame.
- The main surface is 23 inches deep, so large monitors sit closer to your eyes than on the Arozzi or IKEA.
- The wing shape and built-in LED lighting suit a gaming room more than a shared office.
- The monitor shelf version costs noticeably more than the base desk.

- A 5 mm mousepad covers the whole top, with cross-split openings that line up with the grommet holes.
- The front edge curves in at the center, and leveling glides handle uneven floors.
- The height is fixed at 28.54 inches with no adjustment.
- It overlaps heavily with the Arozzi Arena, which adds height adjustment and a washable pad.
- RESPAWN does not list the desktop material on the product page.
- Warranty terms are only described as the RESPAWN Limited Warranty.

- The LED lighting offers 7 colors and 22 modes.

- A pull-out keyboard tray takes knee room and separates the keyboard from the mouse surface on top.
- The features list is built around lights and gadgets rather than stability.

How we judged the field
Five things separate a good gaming desk from a poor one. Depth comes first, because it controls monitor distance and how much room your mouse and arms get. Width comes second, especially for multi-monitor setups and low mouse sensitivity. Third is height, fixed, manual or electric, because your arms should rest level with the desk. Fourth is a stated load capacity, since monitor arms and heavy displays concentrate weight at the rear. Fifth is cable management, which is where gaming setups usually turn messy.
The field splits into electric sit-stand desks with gaming touches, fixed or manual desks covered in mousepad fabric, and budget desks that compete on gadgets. We picked a premium and a mid-range electric desk, two full-mousepad desks with different trade-offs, the simplest well-specified budget desk we could find, and a popular budget desk whose spec sheet shows what you give up.
Secretlab MAGNUS Evo
Buy itThe Secretlab MAGNUS Evo is the best gaming desk here because it gets the fundamentals and the details right. Secretlab lists a 28.3 to 46.1 inch height range driven by two motors, three programmable presets on a capacitive control panel, a stated noise level under 50 dB and a 265 lb load capacity. The two-tone top pairs soft-touch laminate with a metal rear edge, which takes monitor arm clamps and Secretlab’s magnetic accessories. Cable management is the standout: a magnetic bottom-access tray and an integrated power column keep wires off the floor. There are real trade-offs. It is the most expensive desk here, the 265 lb figure includes the 67.2 lb desktop, and at 25.2 inches deep the standard model is shallower than the Arozzi or RESPAWN. The electronics carry a 2-year warranty, while the rest is covered for up to five years. An XL version adds width. For players who want a tidy sit-stand setup that will last, this is the one.
IKEA HUVUDSPELARE Gaming Desk
Buy itThe IKEA HUVUDSPELARE Gaming Desk is the value pick because it spends its budget on the right things. At 55 1/8 by 31 1/2 inches, it is deeper than both electric desks here, and IKEA says the depth lets you put screens at a comfortable distance; it holds two 24-inch monitors. The frame is powder-coated steel, the low-reflection top is particleboard, and IKEA cites testing to the EN 12521 table standard. Cable trunking under the top and a headphone hook come included. The limits are clear: it is fixed height, IKEA’s measurements do not list that height, and the 110 lb max load is the lowest stated figure in this group. At 55 1/8 inches it is also the narrowest desk, so a triple-monitor setup will feel cramped, and a heavy clamp-on arm on particleboard deserves care. For a one or two monitor setup on a tight budget, it does the essential job better than desks that cost more and offer gadgets instead.
Arozzi Arena Gaming Desk (Large)
Buy itThe Arozzi Arena Gaming Desk (Large) is the desk for players who want room. At 63.0 by 32.3 inches it is the deepest desk in this comparison and tied for the widest, and the whole top is covered by a microfiber mousepad that Arozzi says is water-resistant, machine washable and replaceable. Three cutouts handle cables and monitor arms, a mesh net underneath holds cable runs, and the legs are steel. Height is manually adjustable; Arozzi lists 71 to 81 cm, though the inch figure on the same page does not match, so check before you rely on the top of the range. The load rating is 176 lb evenly distributed, lower than the RESPAWN and the electric desks, and the top is MDF. Fabric is also easier to stain than laminate, even if you can wash it. If you run an ultrawide or two large screens, or play with a low mouse sensitivity and need a long sweep, the Arena’s depth and full-surface pad are worth its mid-range price.
Eureka Ergonomic Aero Pro Wing Shaped Standing Desk (63”x23”)
It dependsThe Eureka Ergonomic Aero Pro Wing Shaped Standing Desk is the way to get an electric desk without the premium price. Eureka lists dual motors, a 29.5 to 48 inch range, three presets, anti-collision sensors and a 220 lb capacity. The wing-shaped 63 by 23 inch top wraps the sides toward you, and the box is generous: shelves, a cable tray, hooks, a cup holder, device holders and a full-desk mouse pad, plus switchable LED lighting. The trade-offs show up in the details. Electronic parts carry a 1-year warranty, compared with 5 years on the frame, so the motors and controller are covered for a shorter time than the MAGNUS Evo’s. The main surface is 23 inches deep, so a large monitor sits closer to your eyes than on the IKEA or Arozzi. The wing shape and lighting also commit the desk to a gaming or streaming look. It suits streamers and multi-device players who want an electric desk with everything included.
RESPAWN PC Desk (1063)
It dependsThe RESPAWN PC Desk (1063) is a straightforward full-mousepad desk with one standout number: a 200 lb weight limit, higher than the IKEA or Arozzi. It measures 63 by 31.5 inches, and a 5 mm mousepad covers the whole top, with cross-split openings that line up with the grommet holes in each working area. The front edge curves in at the center to bring you closer to the screen, T-legs carry adjustable leveling glides for uneven floors, and a rear bracket holds a cable tray. A smaller 48-inch version also exists. The catch is that the height is fixed at 28.54 inches, so if your chair’s armrests sit high, you cannot adjust around them. It also overlaps closely with the Arozzi Arena, which adds manual height adjustment and a pad Arozzi calls washable, and RESPAWN does not list the desktop material on the page. Buy it if you are of average height, want a big mousepad desk and value the higher stated load limit.
Bestier 63 Inch LED Gaming Desk with Keyboard Tray
Skip itThe Bestier 63 Inch LED Gaming Desk with Keyboard Tray is a popular budget desk, and the one to skip. On paper it has plenty: 4 AC outlets and 2 USB ports on a 6.5 ft cord, LED lighting with 7 colors and 22 modes, a pull-out keyboard tray, a movable monitor stand, and cup and headphone holders. The problem is the desk underneath. Bestier lists it at 19.6 inches deep, the shallowest here by more than three inches, so your monitor ends up close to your face and there is little room for your forearms. The page also lists no weight capacity and no desktop material, the two numbers that tell you whether a desk will stay stable with monitors on it. The keyboard tray takes knee room and puts the keyboard below the mouse. For a similar budget, the IKEA HUVUDSPELARE gives you 31 1/2 inches of depth, a steel frame and a stated 110 lb load, which matters more than lights.

Secretlab MAGNUS Evo vs IKEA HUVUDSPELARE Gaming Desk: which should you buy?
The Secretlab MAGNUS Evo and the IKEA HUVUDSPELARE sit at opposite ends of the price range, and the choice comes down to how much you value adjustable height. The MAGNUS Evo moves from 28.3 to 46.1 inches with two motors and presets, carries a 265 lb rating, and hides cables in a magnetic tray. The HUVUDSPELARE is fixed height with a 110 lb rating, but it is deeper at 31 1/2 inches against 25.2.
If you play long sessions, share the desk with someone of a different height, or want to stand some of the time, the MAGNUS Evo is worth the premium. If you sit at one height, run one or two monitors and want the most desk depth for the least money, the HUVUDSPELARE does the job. A middle path is the Eureka Aero Pro, which is electric at a mid-range price with a shorter electronics warranty.
Who should buy which
- Long-session players who want to sit and stand: the Secretlab MAGNUS Evo. Two motors, three presets and a magnetic cable tray make it the most complete sit-stand desk here.
- Tight budgets: the IKEA HUVUDSPELARE Gaming Desk. It gives 31 1/2 inches of depth and a steel frame at the lowest price in the group.
- Ultrawide or dual large monitors: the Arozzi Arena Gaming Desk (Large). At 63.0 x 32.3 inches it has the largest surface of any desk compared.
- Streamers who want extras included: the Eureka Ergonomic Aero Pro Wing Shaped Standing Desk (63”x23”). It is electric and comes with shelves, a cable tray, hooks and a full-desk mouse pad.
- Players who want a fixed mousepad desk with a higher load rating: the RESPAWN PC Desk (1063). Its stated 200 lb limit beats the IKEA and Arozzi.
What to look for
- Depth first: Look for about 30 inches or more if you run a large monitor without an arm, since depth sets viewing distance.
- A stated load capacity: A missing load rating is a warning sign, and check whether the figure includes the desktop’s own weight.
- Height that fits your chair: Compare desk height with your chair’s armrest range, or buy an adjustable desk.
- Real cable management: Trays, trunking and grommets matter more than LEDs for keeping a gaming setup tidy.
- Top material: Particleboard and MDF are fine but need care with heavy clamp-on monitor arms.
- Warranty split: On electric desks, compare the electronics warranty with the frame warranty, since motors fail before steel.
Our final take
Buy the Secretlab MAGNUS Evo if you want a sit-stand gaming desk with the best cable management here and are willing to pay for it. Buy the IKEA HUVUDSPELARE if you want a deep, stable desk for very little and can live with fixed height. Pick the Arozzi Arena for maximum depth and a full-surface washable pad, the Eureka Aero Pro for an electric desk with accessories at a mid-range price, or the RESPAWN PC Desk for a fixed mousepad desk with a higher stated load. Skip the Bestier 63 Inch LED desk: lights and outlets do not make up for 19.6 inches of depth and no stated capacity.
Questions, answered
How deep should a gaming desk be?
Depth matters more than most buyers expect, because it sets how far your monitor sits from your eyes. The desks here range from 19.6 inches on the Bestier to 32.3 inches on the Arozzi Arena. IKEA describes the 31 1/2 inch HUVUDSPELARE top as deep enough to position screens at a comfortable distance. For a large or ultrawide monitor, aim for a desk at the deeper end, or plan on a monitor arm that can push the screen back.
Is a standing desk worth it for gaming?
A standing desk lets you change position during long sessions and set an exact seated height, which a fixed desk cannot. Both electric desks here, the Secretlab MAGNUS Evo and the Eureka Aero Pro, use two motors and three height presets. Even if you rarely stand, precise sitting height helps your arms rest level with the desk. Our electric standing desks comparison covers office-style models if you do not need gaming features.
Do I need a desk with a full-surface mousepad?
It is convenient rather than necessary. A full-surface pad, like those on the Arozzi Arena and RESPAWN PC Desk, gives you a huge mouse area and a soft surface for your arms. Arozzi says its pad is machine washable and replaceable, which matters because fabric shows spills. A large desk mat on a plain desk achieves much the same result, and our desk mats comparison covers those.
What does the load capacity on a desk include?
Read the fine print. Secretlab states that the MAGNUS Evo's 265 lb maximum includes the 67.2 lb desktop, so the load you can add is lower than the headline figure. Arozzi states its 176 lb rating is for an evenly distributed load. Monitors on arms concentrate weight at the rear edge, so leave a margin, and if a maker does not state a capacity at all, as with the Bestier, treat that as a warning.
Will my gaming chair fit under the desk?
Check your chair's armrest height against the desk height before buying. Fixed desks such as the RESPAWN at 28.54 inches leave no room to adjust if your armrests sit high. Height-adjustable desks solve this, and the Arozzi Arena's manual legs help too. Our gaming chairs comparison lists armrest adjustment ranges you can compare against these numbers.
